Born – tip: Hotel Edition Rooftop Terrace

I flere år er der blevet bygget lige ved siden af Mercado de Santa Caterina, markedet med det flotte, bølgede og farverige tag. Jeg har tit undret mig over, hvor lang tid det byggeri kunne tage, og hvad der i det hele taget blev bygget. Men nu er det færdigt, og resultatet blev et luksushotel: Hotel Edition.

Det er uden tvivl et lækkert hotel med en perfekt beliggenhed, men måske er du – som jeg – ikke forvent med at smide en masse penge efter et hotelværelse i luksusklassen. Du kan dog få en smagsprøve på luksuslivet ved at tage turen op i elevatoren til hotellets smukke tagterrasse. Du er velkommen, også selvom du ikke bor på hotellet.

Her kan du nyde en drink, en bid mad og en pause væk fra byens larm, alt sammen med den smukkeste udsigt ud over Santa Caterinas og Born-kvarterets tage. I det fjerne vil du også kunne se kirken: Santa Mar del Mar, det fallos-formede tårn: Torre Agbar/Torre Glòries og de modernistiske bygninger i Parc de la Ciutadella.

Barcelona har noget med tagterrasser, hvilket ikke er så overraskende, når vejret ofte er solrigt. Hotel Editions terrasse er bestemt et godt bud på en skøn tagterrasse, jeg kommer i hvert fald snart igen!

For several years, there has been construction work going on right next to the Mercado de Santa Caterina, the market with the beautiful, wavy and colorful roof. I have often wondered how long the construction would last and what they were building there. Now they are finished and the result is a luxury hotel: Hotel Edition.

It is undoubtedly a nice hotel with a perfect location, but maybe you – like me – do not have the habit of using a lot of money on luxury hotel rooms. Nevertheless, you can still get a taste of the luxury life by riding up the elevator to the hotel’s beautiful rooftop terrace. You are welcome, even if you are not staying at the hotel.

Here you can enjoy a drink, a bite to eat and a break away from the noise of the city, all with the most beautiful view of the rooftops of Santa Caterina and the Born neighborhood. And in the distance you can see the church: Santa Mar del Mar, the phallus shaped tower: Torre Agbar/Torre Glòries and the modernist buildings of Parc de la Ciutadella.

Barcelona has a thing about roof terraces, which may not be surprising due to the often sunny weather. The Hotel Editions rooftop terrace is indeed a nice addition, I will be back soon!
